“Some day, following the example of the United States of America, there will be a United States of Europe” George Washington, 1st US President (1789-97) Summeruniversity at Pforzheim UniversityPenn State students pay tuition for credits directly to the home university, and all costs in Germany are covered by this tuition fee, including hotel accommodations in double or triple rooms, local transportation, breakfast, lunch and dinner, entrance fees, etc. Students from other universities pay €3750 tuition for 2009 directly to Hochschule Pforzheim University, which covers all costs in Germany. Tuition for academic credits will be worked out on a case-by-case basis with the home university and may, in some cases, be credited against the fee. All students are responsible for arranging travel to and from Germany and for providing applicable health insurance and other coverage. Grants for international travel may be available. For personal expenditures (such as snacks, gifts and entertainment) and optional free time activities and excursions, participants should bring additional spending money.
